September 20, 2011, AIM Inc., the trade association recognized as the worldwide authority on automatic identification and mobility, today announced the availability of Han Xin Code symbology.

Han Xin Code is a two-dimensional (2d) matrix symbology, which is developed and designed for both Chinese market and global market. Han Xin Code is a result of a key research of tenth Chinese Five-Year Plan. The Chinese National Standard of Han Xin Code was published in 2007.

This symbology can efficiently encode Chinese information, numeric and ASCII characters and octet bytes such as graphic and audio information. There are eighty-four sizes of Han Xin Code symbols to provide a wide choosable encoding range of information. And it has four levels of Reed-Solomon error correction to ensure correct decoding even with damaged symbols.

As with all AIM symbology specifications, Han Xin Code has undergone a rigorous review process in AIM's Technical Symbology Committee (TSC) to ensure that this new symbology offers unique or novel features that provide additional benefits to the user community and that it is robust from both a printing and reading perspective.

Chuck Evanhoe, AIM board chairman, says "AIM is pleased with the close cooperation of AIM China and the Han Xin Code development team in developing this International Technical Specification. This symbology has already been deployed in a variety of applications within China and this standard will help vendors and end users adopt it for additional applications with confidence. We encourage the submission of this symbology for consideration as an international standard under ISO/IEC."

"China is a vital and vibrant market for bar code technology and the development of this symbology specification is a key for future global growth in the region. AIM appreciates the hard work and dedication of the Han Xin Code team, those who offered comments and recommendations during public review, and, of course, the members of the TSC who dedicated their time and expertise to ensuring the robustness of the specification."

The AIM Global's specification of Han Xin Code is available for purchase from the AIM online store at International Symbology Specification – Han Xin Code. There is also encode and decode softwares of Han Xin Code, which could also be found at AIM online store at Han Xin Software.
